Backups

Your MotoDesk data is your business record, so it is backed up automatically every day.

What is backed up

Each backup is a single file containing:

• the complete database: customers, stock, sales, job cards, payments, settings and history;
• uploaded files, such as your showroom logo and documents.

When backups run

• Automatically every night (2:00 AM by default) on your server.
• Backups are kept for 14 days by default, and older ones are removed automatically.

Ask your IT provider to also copy backups to another place (cloud storage or another computer) regularly. A backup kept only on the same server will not help if that server fails.

Restoring

If you ever need to restore your data, contact your MotoDesk installer or IT provider and tell them the date you want to go back to. They will restore it using the steps in the technical deployment guide.

Good habits

• Do not share the owner (Super Admin) password.
• Deactivate staff accounts as soon as someone leaves.
• Check the Login Activity now and then.
